Your existing recycling dumpsters will be replaced with new ones. The dumpsters will be marked “Single Stream” recycling. This means that residents will be allowed to mix paper items with bottles and cans in the same dumpster. It is still important that boxes be flattened and that plastic bags are not included.

As you will see from the attached flier, the recycling program is being expanded to include plastics 1 through 7. We hope that the volume of materials collected will increase and think we have provided you enough room for these extra materials.

Your weekly collection schedule will remain the same. However, if you have overfull issues and need additional pick ups, just give us a call and we can make those arrangements. If extra pick ups are required regularly, we can discuss adding larger or extra dumpsters.

During the first quarter of the year, you will also see refurbishing and/or replacement of the garbage dumpsters. This process is weather related and should be complete by spring.

On another matter, as you know, paint, tires, TVs and computers cannot go in the garbage. When these items are left next to the dumpster of the property you manage and/or maintain, you are stuck handling them properly as most of the time the person placing the items there cannot be identified.

We are happy to help you by accepting these items from South Brunswick properties only at our recycling center. However, due to the sheer volume of these items being delivered, we must ask that they be brought ONLY on non-holiday Mondays between the hours of 7:30 am and 12 noon. If you find it impossible to deliver the items during these hours, please call the office to make other special arrangements.
